Martin completed his PhD on Diaspora Engagement at the Clinton Institute (University College Dublin) and was also a visiting fellow at UNU-MERIT. He is an adviser to The Networking Institute on diaspora, networking and philanthropy. He sits on the Executive Leadership Council of the African Diaspora Network based in Silicon Valley, Advisory Board of Futureofworkandwo.men, and Advisory Board of Ireland Reaching Out.
He has trained, spoken, and written on diaspora engagement in Africa, Caribbean, Central Asia, Central and Latin America, Europe, Middle East, United Kingdom and the United States. Clients included a range of public and private sector entities such as Comic Relief, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Ireland, ICMPD, IOM, UK Trade and Investment (now DIT), USAID, and World Bank. He is an active mentor and is passionate about helping next generation leaders on their journey.
