The Global Forum on Remittances, Investment and Development (GFRID) Summit 2023 will take place at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) on 14-16 June, and is organized by IFAD, the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser for Africa (UN OSAA) and the World Bank.

The Summit will gather over 400 relevant stakeholders involved in the global and African remittance ecosystem, representing the public and private sectors, as well as the civil society.

The event plays a key role in highlighting the increasing importance of remittances and diaspora investment for migrants and their families, and to discuss opportunities and challenges to leverage the impact of these flows towards sustainable development.

On the third Summit day, and like every 16 June, we will observe the International Day of Family Remittances (IDFR) to raise awareness of the crucial contribution of migrants to the wellbeing of their families back home.
