The report entitled Diaspora Engagement, Climate-Induced Migration and Skills Mobility: A focus on Africa, provides critical analysis, institutional and policy recommendations emphasizing the significance of partnerships for inclusive Diaspora engagement (Chapter 1); managing climate mobility and building climate resilience (Chapter 2); and fostering skills mobility (Chapter 3).

In this fifth edition of the newsletter, you will discover the culmination of a comprehensive consultative process shaping the Global Diaspora Policy Alliance (GDPA). Diasporas have achieved recognition as pivotal development and humanitarian contributors at the highest political echelons. They serve as essential partners in development, and the integration of their contributions into global policies and programs should be more comprehensive, systematic, and sustainable.

This study is based on quantitative (survey of respondents) and qualitative (survey of experts, in-depth interviews) methods of collecting information collected in December 2021 - August 2022. Purpose: to study the institutionalization of the Kazakh community of the Russian Federation. The study consists of two parts: 1) survey of respondents – ethnic Kazakhs living in the Russian Federation (citizens of the Russian Federation), 2) survey of expert specialists, scientists, researchers in the field of migration, diasporology, anthropology, international relations, etc.

The need to expand private sector engagement for enhanced migration and sustainable development outcomes is very clear. International agreements, like the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, have already recognized that the private sector has a critical role to play in ensuring that migrants can contribute to sustainable development and that their fundamental rights are upheld.

En 2023, l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM), iDiaspora, le Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism (GRFDT – Forum mondial de recherche sur la diaspora et le transnationalisme), la Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC – Confédération des diasporas du monde) et la Migration Youth and Children Platform (MYCP – Plateforme des jeunes et des enfants en situation de migration) se sont associés pour organiser trois échanges virtuels des diasporas du monde sur la communication comme outil permettant de stimuler l’implication des diasporas dans le développement.

En 2023, la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM), iDiaspora, el Foro Global de Investigación sobre Diáspora y Transnacionalismo (GRFDT), la Confederación Global de Diásporas (GDC) y la Plataforma de Juventud y Niñez Migrante (MYCP) se asociaron para organizar tres Intercambios Virtuales Globales de Diáspora sobre comunicación, con el objetivo de impulsar la participación de la diáspora en el desarrollo.
