Join The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in a “Twinning Opportunity” under a larger project, Developing and Piloting a Framework for Diaspora’s Engagement in Humanitarian Assistance. This “Twinning Opportunity” aims to increase the capacity of diaspora organizations and enhance internal coordination among diaspora actors by providing opportunities for collaboration between small to medium-sized Filipino diaspora organizations and larger national peers to strengthen diaspora coordination and provide capacity-building, organizational guidance, and mentorship.
Under this project, the IOM in cooperation with the NAFFAA, and with funding from the USAID/Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance, is working to increase effectiveness and reach of humanitarian assistance to populations affected by crises by pursuing a strengthened coordination within diasporas and between diasporas and institutional humanitarian actors. NaFFAA’s mission is to promote the welfare and well-being of Filipino Americans throughout the United States by amplifying their voices, advocating on behalf of their interests, and providing resources to facilitate their empowerment.
If interested, please email email@example.com, Subject: Twinning, by July 30, 2021 so we may be able to plan accordingly. Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Paired organizations will engage in at least two (2) collaborative activities together such as:
Filipino Diaspora organization
Participating organizations will be awarded a certificate on behalf of NaFFAA and IOM upon successful completion of the partnership’s activities. Participating organizations will also be given the opportunity to be highlighted on the social media accounts (and possibly websites) of NaFFAA and IOM.
Together, we believe that more effective humanitarian assistance to the Philippines can be made possible through building on diaspora organizations capacities to facilitate their engagement in humanitarian assistance.
