The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is launching a Call for Innovative Partnerships (CfIP), inviting collaboration with microfinance institutions (MFIs), banks, money transfer organizations, foundations prioritizing corporate social responsibility, diaspora organizations (local and international), civil society organizations, academia, relevant private sector entities, and other disaster preparedness stakeholders.
This collaboration aims to tap into and facilitate stronger coordination of the large ecosystem of stakeholders to enhance the existing Bahay Matibay (‘Resilient Shelter’) Project, by supporting a “Diaspora-Guaranteed Microfinance Model for Safe Shelters.” With the support of local, regional, and national government agencies, the objective is to bring this Model into reality and reach the most marginalized and at-risk families and communities, paving the way for sustainable, resilient shelters, livelihoods, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) support, and the potential for infrastructure projects.
