Developing Community Resilience: Shelter and Settlement Assistance Training for Diasporas

In this 25-minute course, you will learn about how you can more effectively contribute to humanitarian assistance before, during and after crises, help communities access safe shelters, and make your community more resilient. 

Objectives: 

Identify different components of disaster preparedness, response, recovery and risk reduction, and relate their use to diasporas’ activities. 
Understand what shelter and settlement are, and their relevance for diaspora actors. 
Explore how diasporas can promote access to safer shelter for more resilient communities.
This course is designed for both new and experienced diaspora actors who are interested in shelter assistance or implement shelter programming.
