The Afghan Diaspora: Partners in the Crisis Response

This publication stems from the need to understand the changes occurred within the Afghan diaspora in Italy following the Taliban's return to power in August 2021. Based on a qualitative methodology (through literature review and collection of primary data), this report maps Afghan diaspora groups and organizations in Italy, identifying their intervention priorities and activities in Italy and in Afghanistan, in order to explore engagement opportunities in response to the Afghan crisis.

Review of the National Diaspora Policy Legislative and Institutional Framework – Zambia

The Government of the Republic of Zambia recognizes the significant contributions of the Zambian diaspora to national development, as reflected in the Seventh National Development Plan, and accordingly formulated a National Diaspora Policy. Following the successful development of the Diaspora Policy, the Government also developed a National Diaspora Policy Strategic Implementation Action Plan, 2019–2022 to guide its implementation.

Using Facebook Ads for Diaspora Engagement on Humanitarian Assistance in the Philippines

The Data for Good unit at Meta and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) partnered to develop, launch and analyze a pair of online campaigns to raise awareness about the impact of recurring natural disasters in the Philippines in Filipino American communities. The campaigns ultimately reached over 10 million people and demonstrated the efficacy of digital outreach for engaging communities in disaster recovery efforts and transferring knowledge of safe shelter messaging.
