Bio

Larisa LARA-GUERRERO is the Transnational Communities and Digital Communications Officer at IOM. Larisa completed her PhD at the Centre for Ethnic and Migration Studies (CEDEM) of the University of Liège and at the Research Unit of Migration and Society (URMIS) of the University of Paris. She is a Fellow at the Institut Convergences Migrations in France. She studied International Relations at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico City and at the Paris Institute of Political Studies as an undergraduate. She holds a Master of Sciences in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford and a Master of Arts in Conflict, Security and Development from King’s College London. Her research currently focuses on emigration policies, the role of diasporas in conflict zones, and political transnationalism. She has published in multiple academic journals and in political analysis magazines. She has also worked in several research projects at the UNDP and IOM.
