Background Information about Host Institution

Holland House Hargeisa is a community organization initiated by the Dutch Somaliland community in Somaliland. More specifically, Holland House Hargeisa is a new hub, which offers decorated private offices, co-working space, meeting rooms and fast Internet. Unlike existing hubs, Holland House Hargeisa focuses more on Diaspora entrepreneurs in general, and Dutch-Somalis in particular while also engaging with the wider Somaliland business community. The hub will offer all its customers an opportunity and a place to exchange ideas, work together, and meet investors. Holland House further offers technical support for innovative project ideas, which are related to local demands and development of the country. The hub will also focus on connecting Dutch businesses with their counterparts in the Horn of Africa. Holland House Hargeisa is knowledge and network centre, which has a fully non-profit structure

Objectives of Assignment

Holland House Hargeisa is looking for a highly organised and charismatic individual for the role of Operational Management Consultant of Holland House Hargeisa, overseeing all aspects of the workspace operations including programmes of ongoing events. The Operational Management Consultant will work closely with the finance manager and will also train one intern per assignment. The Operational Management Consultant will help us to set up new methods of working within the future staff of Holland House Hargeisa, set up structures to write proposals, set up strategy to liaison with possible international partners and local partners.

Output / Deliverables

• To provide affordable creative workspace
• To manage, oversee and direct all aspects of the Hub’s operation including letting, memberships, monitoring, sales, marketing, and events.
• To create a collaborative environment amongst our members through events and personal introductions in line with overall Holland House Hargeisa objectives.
• To maintain 100% occupancy, achieve target goals, and manage the overall facility activities
• To ensure that workspaces are fully operational, and processes are running smoothly
• To set up new operational structures, and to set up new strategies and policies for Holland House Hargeisa
• To maximize the Hub’s revenue by implementing attentive cost control

Education and Experience

• Level of Education: At least Bachelor degree
• Years of work experience: 5+ years
• Field/area of experience: Project management, HUB management, facility management etc.
• Knowledge of private sector in Somaliland
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
•  Experience in working with INGO’s, donors and international organizations
