The Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC) is the world’s largest diaspora-led civic society organisation to bring together diaspora organisations from across the world to unite, support, develop and promote global diaspora communities. Led by a world-class board of diaspora organisations, organised by the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), and managed by its Secretariat, the GDC has the following overall objectives:
a) Supporting exchange of best practices among diaspora organizations;
b) Facilitate concrete joint initiatives among diaspora organizations;
c) Identify global solutions which can be deployed locally;
d) Facilitate cooperation between international development and humanitarian actors and diaspora organizations.
You will join as a Healthcare Team member of the GDC Secretariat.
Healthcare – providing medical expertise and health protection information and building our medical clinic
You may be required to provide support through video conferencing, phone line, text messages, community radio. If you are a specialist, you may be required to support local hospitals in the area of expertise. Please mention your qualification and area of expertise. We require licensed physician volunteers with qualification equivalent or higher to - MBBS, MBChB, MBBch, BMBS, MD, DO, S.Ked, Approbation, Facharzt.
This role not only is lifesaving but an entrepreneurial opportunity to help patients innovatively. You are expected to be an active and efficient member with a ‘doer’ approach to the tasks at hand. Thus, you must be a motivated and organised individual with a strong social responsibility and teamwork spirit. This is a part-time role but we expect at least 5 hours contribution per week.
