The second highlights a smiling farmer whose bountiful harvest reflects the success of these innovations. The mirror she holds is more than just a reflection — it is a symbol of how she sees herself: shaped by her roots, her journey, and her current surroundings. Each image captures a quiet moment of self-recognition and belonging. Inspired by the IOM’s definition of diaspora, these images reflect how identity can travel, adapt, and stay connected to where it began. The woman’s presence is both gentle and strong, holding memory, culture, and transformation — all at once. Through her, we see how diaspora bridges past and present. |

These semi-aquatic camels, uniquely adapted to both dry grasslands and coastal mangroves, are vital to the fragile ecology of the Banni region. As modern pressures threaten traditional pastoral life, the Fakirani Jatts stand as quiet conservationists, preserving not only a rare species, but also the ecological balance of their ancestral land. Their intimate bond with the camels is a testament to resilience, symbiosis, and a way of life slowly fading into the dust. This photo series captures their enduring journey across salt-cracked earth and timeless skies. |

The images capture glimpses of Morocco through the perspective of someone returning to her roots, finally savoring the colors of her identity that were once lost in time and space. This is the gaze of the returning diaspora - as a seeker of those fragments of self left behind. Immigration is not always about bags and passports, sometimes we migrate from the names given to us, from the identities imposed on us and from the view of the other towards us. This series talks about our difference as people in this city, where young people redefine themselves every day, change, or get lost in the mazes of the city, rebelling against every classification ready. Emerging from an autobiographical practice, it documents the experience of migrating to the United States to visit the artist’s mother, while assisting her in childcare work during a so-called “work trip” at an American kindergarten. Yet this journey was not just a visit—it was also a passage through her own migratory route, lived not as an observer but from within.
