Diaspora organizations carry out a crucial role in humanitarian response and during reconstruction in their countries of origin. Since the first days of the war, the Ukrainian diaspora organizations based in Italy and other countries, in coordination with their local partners, have been supporting the compatriots affected by the humanitarian crisis.

Through the initiative A.MI.CO. Humanitarian Action, IOM Italy supported seven diaspora-led projects which provided essential goods and psychological aid to the Ukrainian population, promoted reconstruction of shelters for internally displaced people and supported the Ukrainian healthcare system.
